Quick Win

Whip up these foods to keep in your fridge for a protein and calcium boost.

Try This Today

  • Top cottage cheese with peaches for some calcium and fiber.
  • Snack on cheese and grapes. This pairing is easy to take on the road.
  • Make frozen yogurt bites. Dip banana slices in yogurt. Top with chopped nuts or chocolate chips and freeze for a tasty, nutritious snack.

Why

The USDA advises that adults consume three cups of dairy per day. Among 60 people ages 60 to 85 who underwent brain scans as part of a study published in 2014 in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, those who reported the highest intake of milk, cheese and yogurt also had higher concentrations of glutathione in their brain. Glutathione is a naturally occurring antioxidant that supports brain health.
