Drink Water With a Special Glass

Associating a specific container with water may help you remember to drink

Try This Today

  • At home, have a “water-only” glass.
  • Choose a glass that’s different from your other glassware. If it stands out, you’ll see it, which may help you remember to drink from it.
  • Purchase a water bottle you can take with you to work, to the gym or on a walk. If you carry it, you’ll use it.
  • Although recommendations vary for how much plain water you should drink daily, make sure the glass is large enough for one or two servings.

Why

Drinking enough water every day benefits your overall health, and using the same glass every day, numerous times a day, helps you associate that glass as your water glass. Keep it in the fridge or on a counter where you can easily spot it.
