I Am Taste

Sweet, spicy, salty, sour — taste can spark memories and soothe our nerves (there’s a reason some dishes are called “comfort foods”). Our taste buds send information to our brains, but each human interprets that data differently. That’s why some people love anchovies and others despise them. Yet for all of us, our taste buds can affect our health and our mood: A loss of taste can lead to depression and reduced appetite.
