  • Practice Beginner Warrior pose. Watch a beginner warrior demonstration by Denise Austin above.
  • Hold the pose for 30 seconds on each side.
  • Breathe deeply while holding the pose.
  • Adapt the pose to suit your level of fitness. For example, beginners may find it difficult to place the back heel all the way down. Just go as far as you can without overstretching. If you have trouble balancing, practice next to a chair or wall.
  • To build your yoga routine, add the foundational poses Beginner Down Dog and Cobra.
