Quick Win

Eating avocados can promote a healthy brain and overall health.

Try This Today

  • Spread avocado on your sandwich or bagel in place of mayonnaise.
  • Slice an avocado, and sprinkle it with lemon juice, seasoning or honey for a quick snack.
  • Add avocado to your salads, omelets and casseroles.

Why

Avocados might be the perfect food. They’re dense in nutrients and healthy fats and easy to add to almost any meal. Whether you use it as a condiment or the main ingredient of a dish, eating a daily avocado is a fantastic way to improve your healthy eating, according to a study of 1,000 adults between 36 and 64 from Penn State researchers, reported in 2024. It may support brain health too; in a survey of 2,886 participants ages 60 and older in the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, those who ate avocado or guacamole had better cognition than those who did not eat the green fruit, according to a 2021 report in Frontiers in Nutrition. Celebrate your health with an avocado-palooza!
